System Configuration & Data build Engineer.

The role includes interpretation of site survey documentation to programme electronic “Smart Building Controllers” prior to installation at customer sites. The equipment is predominantly latest generation wireless technology utilising temperature sensors, relay interface units and plant alarm monitoring equipment. The quality of data build, system configuration and bench testing is critical to the success of the installed system.

My client also  operates a technical “Smart Support” customer bureau as an integral part of supporting their retail customers. The bureau provides a high quality “Virtual Facilities Manager” experience for customers. The post holder will be required to support the bureau and may progress to become a technical analyst within the customer support team

Essential Requirements.

  • Highly computer literate with a genuine interest in computing technology.
  • Practical skills and ability to work with circuit boards and components.
  • Experience of using command line driven applications i.e. DOS
  • Highly customer focused with good communications skills, allowing them to explain technical issues in a clear and simple way to non technical customers.
  • Good team player who demonstrates flexibility to work across a range of tasks and technologies, with the enthusiasm to succeed in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Be reliable when working during periods of pressure to meet specified deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic & self motivated with good problem solving skills.

Desirable Requirements.

  • Knowledge of electrical controls and building services plant operation.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with databases.
  • NVQ / GCSE in electronics.
